Arrow : Legends of Yesterday
So last week the second part of the ArrowxFlash crossover aired and it wasn’t as good as the first part. The show takes over from where Flash left off , Barry failing to retrieve the staff of Horace from Vandal Savage and Kendra sprouting wings. It is revealed that Kendra is actually a priestess called Chay-Ara and Carter who is the Prince (Khufu) of Egypt. Vandal Savage is also placed in ancient Egypt and ends up killing them both, during a weird Asteroid shower which grants him immortality and leaves all of them in a vicious loop of reincarnations that has lasted all these years.
Cut to present, and The entire gang is holed up in a remote location known only to a few. Plans are made on how to take down Vandal Savage, while Carter trains Kendra for battle. Oliver shows up to confront his former flame who tells him that William isn’t his son. Oliver manages to grab a sample of hair from Williams Cap and asks Barry to run a paternity test. The test reveals that William is his son. Oliver leaves the lab and Barry is confronted by Felicity who catches a glimpse of the report. Meanwhile Ra’s al Ghul (Malcolm Merlyn) has setup a meeting with savage to negotiate the surrender of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, because if they don’t Savage would decimate Central City. Oliver asks Barry to get to the meeting place and while speeding there he Ghosts (see’s himself running by his side) and assumes that he might be time jumping again. Oliver goes back to confront Samantha and she tells him that Oliver’s mother gave her a cheque (which she never enchased ) to stay quiet. She further goes on to say if Oliver wants to have a relationship with William he can’t tell him that he’s his father.
Felicity confronts Oliver back at the lair about the paternity test, she walks away saying she can’t be with Oliver if he can’t trust her with such information. Oliver breaks the plan to the team only allowing Barry Kendra and Carter to join them. The plan results falls flat. While they attempt to use the staff on Horace on Savage, Oliver and Barry are unable to contain it’s power and Savage in turn uses it to kill everyone. Everyone except Barry who races away, only to time jump. He informs Oliver that he had time jumped and that the plan failed because he and Felicity had a falling out because of which during the fight his head wasn’t in the game and because Kendra wasn’t ready to take on Savage. Oliver and team rethink strategy and this do things differently, Cisco offers to help Kendra reach her potential.
The fight goes down and this time the Team is able to work together to defeat Savage, who is burnt to dust by Oliver and Barry using the staff. After the fight Oliver shows up at Samantha’s place accepting her conditions and is shown playing with William. The episode ends with Malcolm Merlyn collecting Savage’s ashes and proclaiming “Your hate will be everlasting. Your enmity will never die. It will follow them from this life into the next, and the next… And the next.”
Ratings : (2.5 / 5)
Verdict : Yet again a rushed episode, too much info cramped into it. The major let down was the crossover didn’t hint to the Legends of Tomorrow spin off at all.
By day I’m a boring old Web Developer, but as the sun goes down, I’m a SUPERHERO. Well not really I just dress up and pretend to be one.
“Centurions” was my favorite cartoon growing up and I name all my possessions “Shadow” because I can’t afford a Husky.
I camp in Games like it’s nobody’s business, and if you’ve got a problem with that I’ve got two words for ya “I’m Sorry”, cause you’re a noob.
